The 18th of November 2025 marks a crucial step in the implementation of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.
On that date, a 12-month transition period will begin, during which all UK company Directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSCs) must complete identity verification with Companies House.
Although the 18th of November is not a hard deadline - as some in the entrepreneurial and the professional sectors have been fearing - it is nonetheless wise to get ready well in advance to avoid last-minute complications.
From that date onward, Companies House will no longer accept any filings — whether it’s a confirmation statement, a return of allotment, a new appointment, or any other statutory form — unless all relevant directors and PSCs have been verified.
No wonder this new requirement has been raising concern among businesses and entrepreneurs alike, particularly those based overseas who may be less familiar with UK legislation.
Where an individual wishes to delegate the process, it is essential that the agent engaged is registered for AML supervision and fully authorised by Companies House.
As a lean consultancy and fully Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSP), Bolasco Consulting offers cost-effective and confidential end-to-end support with the ID verification, ensuring a smooth and fully compliant process for directors and PSCs alike.
